Septic Service in Warrington
Warrington grew up beside the Navy yard and is now a dense mix of older homes, military families and bayou-front lots. Water is everywhere here, which shapes how septic systems on the remaining septic lots behave.

A Navy town
Warrington is an unincorporated community in Escambia County, about six miles from both downtown Pensacola and the Alabama line, with 15,218 residents in the 2020 census (Wikipedia: Warrington, Florida). It is named for Lewis Warrington, a Navy officer who helped choose the site of the Pensacola Navy Yard and served as its first commandant in 1826 and 1827. The original village was moved north of Bayou Grande in the 1930s to make room for Naval Air Station Pensacola. Residents voted against incorporating as a town in 1975, and mail here carries a Pensacola address.
Bayous and flood zones
Bayou Grande, Bayou Chico and Big Lagoon put a lot of Warrington close to water, and more than a fifth of the community's area is water. FEMA's flood maps show which lots fall in mapped flood zones (FEMA flood maps). On low lots, a high water table and storm surge are the main threats to septic systems. Lids that seal well and a field that sits high enough are the basics.
Military moves and home sales
With Navy families coming and going, homes here change hands often. If you are buying a Warrington home that is on septic, plan a separate septic inspection and ask for pumping records. The home-buying guide lists the questions to ask.
County offices
Because Warrington is unincorporated, building and land use questions go to Escambia County (Escambia County), while septic permits go through the state onsite sewage program.
Nearby
Pensacola lies to the northeast, Perdido Key is to the southwest past Big Lagoon, and Gulf Breeze sits across the bay. Ferry Pass is on the far north side of the city.
